Quetzal chocoladebar
There is more to life than chocolate
Gent, Belgium
Gent, Belgium
Type : Lounge
"There is more to life than chocolate, but not right now!" - this is the sentence I read as I walked by this chocolatebar in Ghent and I thought that this is so right that it could be the motto of all my vacation in Belgium. The truth to be told, no matter where you travel in Belgium, it will always be about chocolate, beer and french fries, though I’d say that the former rules the other two out. In Belgium, everything is about chocolate! You can’t take one single step without seeing a chocolate shop and since you see one, you can’t resist the temptation of trying out some new chocolate. And just when you think that you are through with chocolate you run into this sentence, written on the window of a chocolate bar and it turns all your plans around. Like me, you won’t resist watching from outside and not going in to try out some wonderful drinks with chocolate. The chocolate bar itself is little, but really cozy and once you read through the menu you will understand its passion for chocolate. All the items on the menu are prepared freshly, on a daily basis and you have a great variety to choose from: chocolate milks, choctails, milkshakes, ice cream coupes, as well as refreshments or chocolate fountain. If you do not know what to choose from all those goodies, I would suggest the Quetzal chocolate milk, made of four different kinds of chocolate, but you can also try some chocolate milk with spices. However, if you want something on basis of alcohol, than the Baily choc is for you, being made of Baileys and Chocolate Jenever. It’s absolutely fabulous! All in all, if you are looking for something out-of-the-ordinary you can definitely go for this chocolate bar. It can be found not only in Ghent, but in Leuven and Antwerp as well.

The Heineken Experience in Amsterdam
One unforgettable experience
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Type : Pub
When someone asks me what to visit during his or her stay in Amsterdam I totally recommend the Heineken Experience, as in my opinion it is a must see . This historic brewery is since 1991 open to the public. Even if you’re not a beer lover I would suggest to open up your mind and go for the Heineken Experience! You will find out many interesting things and take part in many interactive activities. And what is a visit to the Heineken Experience without drinking some beer? There are two drinks included in the price of you ticket plus an extra one served at the tasting bar. You will find out many things about the history of the Heineken family and watch Heineken commercials from all around the world. The most interesting part of visiting the Heineken Experience is that you can not only see how beer is made or taste it, but you can actually experience how it is to be a beer bottle. You’ll get all shaken up, then you are sprayed with water and finally subjected to heat. But if you don’t have any interest in feeling like a beer bottle, you can at least design your own beer bottle, personalize it just the way you want it to look. My favorite part of the tour was the stable walk, where we visited the shire horses. These horses still deliver Heineken to some parts of the Netherlands. If you are thinking of buying some gifts for others or simply souvenirs, there is also a gift shop where you can buy all sorts of things with the Heineken logo on them. With plenty of activities to offer this place is always packed with visitors so if you want a more peaceful visit I recommend going before noon, because after noon the visitors just won’t stop coming. Whether you visit it before or after noon one thing you just can’t escape is a good bottle of Heineken beer. Cheers!

The Biggest Club in Madrid - 7 floors!

Kapital
The Biggest Club in Madrid - 7 floors!
Madrid, Spain
Madrid, Spain
Type : Night Club
Kapital is definitly the biggest Club in Madrid with 7 floors, and each one plays a different style of music. It is quite impressive when you see the size of the place as well as the way it is organized, yet you need to like to party in immense and crowded places to fully enjoy it. Entrance prices are high for Madrid standards (20 EUR entrance with one drink included), but you can get sometimes in Puerta del sol flyers being distributed offering the entrance. Count 12 EUR for an additiional classical drink. The party really starts starting 01h00 am like most of Madrid's clubs, and runs easilly until 5am. If you want to avoid a long waiting line and a tough entrance screening, better arrive before or after the crowd, which would be around midnight or after 02h30. I would prefer arriving around 00h30, and even if the club is pretty empty, I start with a drink and enjoy the terrasse. If you arrive in the rush hour, you can count a 45 minutes queue, and avoid arriving in big groups. Avoid also going there in too casual clothing, especially for shoes, otherwise you won't get in, as in most of the clubs. The age average is around 25; The 7 floors music are as follows, but depending on the affluence, some of them could be closed some nights: Ground Floor: House and Dance music. 2nd: Music Studio Karaoke. 3rd The Box - Funky / R&B music. 4th: Kissing room - Cocktail Bar by Bombay Sapphire. 5th: The Party zone. 6th: Mojito and Cuba Libre - Bacardi area. 7th: The Terrace - Lounge bar and smoking area.
