If you go to Amsterdam you just won't have time to get bored as there are so many places you can visit, but if you want to get your cultural intake you should go with the Rijksmuseum.

The Rijksmuseum is the Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history and located at the Museum Square. Up until now it was closed for renovation, but the main building was reopened by Queen Beatrix on the 13th of April 2013. The collection of the museum is huge, it consists of 1 million objects, mainly dedicated to art. Paintings range from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. You can see here the original masterpieces of Rembrandt or Johannes Vermeer. In fact the most famous painting of the Rijksmuseum is Rembrandt`s Night Watch.

However, if you are planning on visiting this museum, give yourselves a lot of time, because it can't be visited in a few hours. You will need time to walk from room to room and enjoy the ambiance as well as all those masterpieces! The price of a ticket is around 15 € for adults, but definitely worth that money. This museum is certainly a feast for the eyes, especially for the cultured souls.
