Alcazar AZ

Alcazar is a Restaurant and Lounge/Club in the heart of Saint Gemain des Prés neighborhood, close to Mabillon and Odéon.
I go to there since 2000 on irregular basis, maybe once or twice a year, and was never disappointed whether for the food quality, the service or the music in the Mezannine.

But this time, I was thrilled by the experience, with the special event with Top Chef, a very famous cooking TV contest. This event is organized between February and April 2012, where the best competitors of 2011 season propose a special Menu.

The 3 courses menu is at 45 EUR (without drinks), which is reasonable for this kind of places in Paris; The food was excellent! I had the Coquille Saint Jacques as a starter, The veal filet in main course (very tender and well prepared), and the BanaCotta super tasty, a bit sweet though.

The bread is kneaded and baked in house, and is absolutely fabulous; One of the best I had in Paris. I could have diner only with the bread and butter served.

After diner, we went to the Mezanine and Enjoyed a great Lounge atmosphere with good music.
I will go back for sure before the end on the TopChef event;Less
