Le Bon Marché, previously Au Bon Marché (you need to be French to get this subtile change of name), was the first French department store created in France in 1838, and had completely revolutionized the stores worked in the 1800s.
The first to instore low prices and margins, playing on size and quantity, the first to display prices on products which would be non negotiable, the first to print and distribute millions of catalogues,...

Today, Le Bon Marché became a luxury department store bought by LVMH, the biggest fashion and luxury French group.
It is very elegant, and in one of my favourite neighborhoods in Paris.

In addition, you will find in Le Bon Marché the biggest Groumet shop in Paris, where you will find high quality products from all over the world. If you are a foreigner and looking for a famous product from your home country, you have good chance to find it at La Grande Epicerie de Paris.

As in most of the department stores, you will find there several places where you can eat, from

PRIMO PIANO
Italian restaurant

ROSE BAKERY
Tea room

LE BALTHAZAR
Wine bar with simple dishes

LE COMPTOIR PICNIC
Simple snacks and dishes Wok prepared

Le bon Marché opens from Monday to Saturday from 10h00 to 20h00 and to 21h00 on Thursdays and Fridays.
