Antelope Canyon is located on Navajo land east of Page in Arizona.
It includes two separate scenic slot canyon sections referred by the Navajo Nation as: the Lower Antelope Canyon called Hazdistazí ("Hasdestwazi") or 'spiral rock arches and the Upper Antelope Canyon called Tsé bighánílíní, which means 'the place where water runs through rocks'.

The canyon was formed by erosion due to flash-fooding but also due to sub-aerial process. Rainwater, especially during monsoon season, runs into the extensive basin above the slot canyon sections, picking up speed and sand as it rushes into the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways eroded away, making the corridors deeper and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form characteristic "flowing" shapes in the rock.

Tips:
To visit Antelope Canyon you'll need a guide so I highly recommend you to book your tickets on one of the many websites tours. The sightseeing tour will cost you between 45 and 58$, depending on your tour departure time.
Also, the best season to go there is from April to September, and mostly from 11 pm to 1:30 on sunny days, because it's when the light beams are more visible. Although 11pm is the best time for this tour, it remains the most expensive slot.
Opened toed shoes and backpacks are not allowed so take you precautions because you don't want to be forbidden from that amazing visit!
When taking pictures, remove the flash and, only if you're using an iPhone, put the "Vivid Warm" filter on your cellphone camera. The colors of the canyon will be much more visible!

Nature itself created that world's wonder so that human could see it and appreciate the power of nature.
