Bregançon and Cabasson beaches are part of the most beautiful beaches of the French riviera, along with the Plage de l'Estagnol and they form a succession of beautiful beaches, pine forests and rocky outcrops.

Bregançon beach is very famous since it is close to the Bregançon Fort, which is an 11th century ols citadel that is the summer residency of the French President of the Republic. The fort and its immediate surroundings are closed to the Public and forbidden from flying over.
The security is quite light when the President is not lodging there, but is reinforced when he is there which is indicated by a French flag on top of the fort.

Nevertheless, all the beaches around are accessible to the public, and you access both beaches from Cabasson where you can parc your car at the Public Parking in Parc Capallo, which is free outside of the high season, and charge 8 EUR/day in summer.

Cabasson is a 375 meters long white sand beach, with a restaurant and private beach in the Middle, Oasis Plage, which allows you to enjoy a good confort, deck-chairs, showers,... They also propose special chairs for disabled persons.
They serve simple and fresh food, like salads, sandwiches and daily menu, at reasonable prices for this kind of highly touristic places.

If you like wilderness and more picnic style there are surrounding Cabasson beach many other beaches surrounded by vegetations and trees which allow a pretty nice places to sit.

In high season (July-August), all the beaches in the region are over crowded, so if you could avoid this period you will much fruther enjoy these beautiful spots.

Bregançon Beach is a mix of Sand and Stone beach and is the closest to the Fort. There are very charming firshermen's huts and you can enjoy from there a very beautiful view on Cabasson. You access it on foot from Cabasson beach and better parc there.

For walkers and hickers, you can walk from Besançon fort to Plage de l'Estagnol in about 2 hours.
