Centre Pompidou is more than a Modern Art museum, but also a cultural hub, including a huge public library, an Art library, a music studio, and of course modern art exhibitions.

Built in the mid-seventies the center took the name of late President Georges Pompidou, a modern art fan and who wanted to create this cultural center in Paris. The architercture competition was won by a trio of unknown architects italian Gianfranco Franchini and Renzo Piano and British Richard Rogers; Since than Rogers won the Pritzker price, Centre George Pompidou playing an important role in the decision of the jury.

Centre Pompidou was an architectural revolution for its time, with a mixture of pipes and columns in flashy colours, making it look like an oil refinery.

Exhibitions in Pompidou are always of very high standard in Modern Art and if you like modern art, than this is an attraction you should not miss.

After the visit, you can have a meal or a drink in the restaurant Le Georges in the 6th floor, and enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Paris.
