Le Petit Palais is one of Paris Municipal museums with Musée Carnavalet, Palais de Tokyo and a few others.

Le petit palais is a beautiful 1900 museum, with a superb golden gate and one of the most beautiful hidden gardens in the city, facing the Grand Palais, another major monument and exhibition hall built for the 1900 Universal Fair. As most of the municipal museums, the permanent collection and building can be visited free of charge, but a small fee will be asked (5 EUR) for temporary exhibitions. There is a café located in the interior garden, and although prices are a bit high and the service lousy, it is still worth a break when the weather is beautiful, just sitting there and admiring the beauties of teh gardens and building.

The collections are a mixture of work arts of different centuries, from antiquity to the 20th. The museum holds a few master pieces such as an Autoportrait by Rembrandt, Paintings of Monet and other impressionists and sculptures by Rodin.

A small jewel in the Champs Elysées, and a good spot in the walking tour from the Champs Elysées to the Louvre.
