The Heineken Experience in Amsterdam

When someone asks me what to visit during his or her stay in Amsterdam I totally recommend the Heineken Experience, as in my opinion it is a must see . This historic brewery is since 1991 open to the public. Even if you're not a beer lover I would suggest to open up your mind and go for the Heineken Experience! You will find out many interesting things and take part in many interactive activities. And what is a visit to the Heineken Experience without drinking some beer? There are two drinks included in the price of you ticket plus an extra one served at the tasting bar. You will find out many things about the history of the Heineken family and watch Heineken commercials from all around the world.

The most interesting part of visiting the Heineken Experience is that you can not only see how beer is made or taste it, but you can actually experience how it is to be a beer bottle. You'll get all shaken up, then you are sprayed with water and finally subjected to heat. But if you don't have any interest in feeling like a beer bottle, you can at least design your own beer bottle, personalize it just the way you want it to look. My favorite part of the tour was the stable walk, where we visited the shire horses. These horses still deliver Heineken to some parts of the Netherlands.

If you are thinking of buying some gifts for others or simply souvenirs, there is also a gift shop where you can buy all sorts of things with the Heineken logo on them.

With plenty of activities to offer this place is always packed with visitors so if you want a more peaceful visit I recommend going before noon, because after noon the visitors just won't stop coming. Whether you visit it before or after noon one thing you just can't escape is a good bottle of Heineken beer. Cheers!Less
