Walking from the Amsterdam Central Station the Flower Market was my first stop. It is worth to take a look even if you don't want to buy flowers, tulip bulbs or any other souvenirs.

It was interesting to see many different techniques to sell seeds / bulbs, I even bought a ''canned'' orange tree, it remains to be seen whether it will grow into a tree or not. The stars of the flower market are of course the tulip bulbs, I've never seen so many types in my entire life. The prices vary, but in my opinion they are not at all high, for 5 € you can buy three packs of bulbs. Although I knew that drugs are legal in the Netherlands I was still amazed, that they sell cannabis at the flowermarket.

The Flower market is not only about flowers, there are many shops where you can buy cheese, chocolate or other typical Dutch sweets. The staff is so helpful if you like me have no clue which cheese to buy, they will help you choose one that best suits your taste.

If you`re at the Central Station you shouldn`t miss the flower market, you will surely notice it as you walk towards the center. If you take the tram you should step out at the Bloemenmarkt (meaning Flower Market) station.
