Walking around the old town of Prague is one of the most beautiful walking tours in Europe, enjoying beautiful historic buildings and a beautiful atmosphere depsite the thousands of tourists you'll meet. We highlighted in this tour the most important spots to see, but of course don't hesitate to take the liberty to visit a few small streets that are around the itinerary, which are very cute too. Count a full day for this part of the city if you want to visit the monuments, and 3-4 hours just walking around.

A- The tour would start at the East part of Charles bridge, from which you could link to another great walking tour of the "small side" of the city, below Prague's Castle. You will first admire the old town's Tower bridge, built in the 14th century as a part of the city's fortifications. From the panoramic gallery at the top of the tower, you have a magnificient view on Prague's Castle and the "Small Side". To your left you will see Saint Francis Church (the old Church of the red star Crusaders). In front of you, you will have the Crusaders square with the statue of King Charles IV. Of course, you can't miss the Clementium, a historical ensemble built by the Jesuits order and currently the National Library. If you have time, try to visit the Glass Church inside;

B-C- Walk down Karlova street until you reach Liliova street and take it. than at the crossroad take Anenska street to the right until you reach the edge of Novotneho Lavka. From there you have a beautiful view on Charles Bridge and you could visit the Smetana museum dedicated to the most famous Czech composer in a beautiful neo-renaissance building.

D-E- Walk back towards Anenska, and take the first to the right to reach Zlata street until you reach Liliova again. That go to the left until you see at your right Retezova Street. You will find in the beginning of the street the Kunstat Palace which has in its basement among the best preserved Gothic halls of the city, built in the 13th century, as well as an exhibition dedicated to King Georgse de Podebrady. Continue on Retezova until you reach Husova Str., and go to the right until you reach Saint Gill Church, which is a Baroque style church, depsite the Gothic portal. Walk back Husova until you reach Back Karlova street with its beautiful building façades.

F-G- Continue on Husova until you reach the Clementinum and walk around the block until you reach back Karlova, and take it towards the main Old Town square (opposite side to Saint Charles Bridge. Another option would be to take Linhartska street, and take to the right Male nam street until you reach the fantastic 15th century Astronomic Clock next to the square. Admire the clock, the Old city hall Tower, the Storch house façade and here you are in one of the most charming squares of Europe.
On the square, you have many great buildings: to the left, Saint Nicolas Church (Baroque style) , Kinsky Palace (Rococo style) which holds an Art gallery now, Saint Mary of Tyn (14th century Gothic) with its very typical arrow towers. All these buildings are worth a visit, and if you're lucky with the weather, it is great to have a beer on one of the terrasses around the square.

H- Walk in the streets around Saint Mary of Tyn church, starting by Tyn street, then Jakubska street and to the right Uprasne Brany where you will find the Powder Tower, which also used to be part of the city's fortification, and the Municipal hall, the most beautiful Art Nouveau building in Prague.
Walk back on Celetna street, and to the right Ovocny Trh where you will find the States Theater where Mozart first played Don Giovanni opéra; You will also find there the Crolinum, the remains of the historic university of Prague. Again to the right on Zelezna street to get back on Celetna. At the end of it, you can take to the right on Stupartska street and finish the tour on the square.
