Zakynthos cavers an area of 407.58 km2 so I would say it is not a big island. Considering this I would recommend you to rent a scooter or a quad and visit the island on your own.

During such a visit we discovered the best beach for snorkeling, diving and water sports in Zakynthos: Agios Nikolaos Beach.
It is very near Vasilikos and right next to Banana Beach. It is small compared with others but the number of activities you can do here are numerous. We preferred sticking to sightseeing and snorkeling as the surroundings were breathtaking and the water was crystal clear!

On the beach there is a bar and a restaurant and also lots of sunbeds! We understood that the prices for diving and water sports are the highest here as the conditions are the best.
