Albert Cuyp Market

If you think that the Rijksmuseum and the Iamsterdam sign is one of the busiest places in Amsterdam, you haven't been to the Albert Cuyp Market. Situated in the center of the city this daily open air market is a popular spot for tourists.

At the Albert Cuyp market you'll find everything you can imagine, from food to books, comic books and clothes. You can taste plenty of cheese or try the typical Dutch street food like the famous stroopwafels, poffertjes or hering. As one of my friends said: if it's typical Dutch food you'll have to try it!

However if you don't want to eat so much I would recommend to try at least the poffertjes, which are like really small pancakes served with butter and caster sugar. They're made right in front of you, which is quite interesting to watch. The market is really long, so after visiting it you might need a few hours of rest, for which the Vondelpark is the best place.Less
