Hotel Grano de Oro

This is a rehabilitated victorian mansion in a tropical style. All its 40 rooms have a different configuration, some of them even have a private terrace/garden. It is located two blocks away from Paseo Colón, one of the main streets of San José.

Its restaurant is known as one of the best in town. The french chef has used some traditional costa rican ingredients, specially in the fish dishes, to design a menu with a clear european/french style. If possible, I would recommend chosing a table at the stylish courtyard. It adds an elegant atmosphere and completes the experience of a nice dinner.

The hotel is a member of the Small Distinctive Hotels association, which is a collection of Costa Rica's most luxurious boutique hotels. It is definitely worth the price.Less
