Jeita Grotto

When visiting Lebanon, you must not miss visiting Jeita Grotto, some 18 Km Noth of Beirut and 5 Km from the coastline. It's definitly one of Nature's wonders, who made of this cave a fantastic silent Cathedral filled with Natural sculptures. No wonder that it was one of the 14 finaliists of the New 7 wonders natural sites in the world (http://nature.new7wonders.com).

It is composed of 2 grottoes, the upper one that you can visit walking, and the lower one that is crossed by a river on which you boat ride.

The location itself is beautiful, in the middle of a green valley in Kesrwan Region.

The grotto is 9km long, among which only a quarter can be visited. Still it's very impressive to see.
The river that crosses it is the Dog River, which serves Beirut fresh water.
