This market has become, in a very short period of time, the new hot spot in the city. The building was reformed and
reopened recently, giving the district (Chueca) a new vibe. So you will find that the old traditional market was replaced for a gastronomic and social space, where visitors can enjoy a roof top terrace if the weather is nice,
and also cultural exhibitions or cooking classes.

There are many options to enjoy, especially delicious traditional Spanish food. The roof-top terrace is a must, but my favorite thing about it though, is the fact that you can have a meal cooked with the ingredients you buy in the market. So not only can you get fresh products such as vegetables and fruits, traditional cured cheese and jam, or selected Spanish wines to take home; you can actually go upstairs to the restaurant "La Cocina de San
Anton" and ask the cooks to prepare the food exactly as you want it.

I don't know any other "market" in Madrid where you can do this, so I strongly recommend trying it out. The restaurant is next to the roof-top terrace, which will make the experience even more unique.
