I would suggest to rent a car when visiting the Côte d'Azur, since there are many beautiful beaches, villages and landscapes to discover away from the coastal cities.

Nevertheless, if you don't want to do it for whatever reason, you can still use the public transportation with many bus lines as well as a coastal regional train. Prices are reasonable and generally the buses as well as the trains are safe and well maintained.
Of course, better avoid showing too much that you are a tourist, and avoid showing valuable objects such as smartphones and cameras.
Beware of Pick pockets too.

You have 2 important websites to know:
http://www.ceparou06.fr/index.asp in which you can indicate your departure and arrival destinations and it will indicate to you the best route and connections.

http://www.cg06.fr/fr/servir-les-habitants/deplacements/transport-collectifs/lignes-et-horaires/lignes-et-horaires/ where you can download on PDF and WORD version all Bus connections between the towns in the Region.
