When going to Brussels one of the main attractions you might not want to skip is the Atomium. This symbol of Brussels and Belgium is an international tourist attraction. It was created on the World Fair of Brussels and it symbolizes an enlarged iron crystal, the energy and the modernity. It was created to bring a little optimism into the lives of people after World War II.

Nowadays people can visit the Atomium, 6 balls being open to the public. There are spheres that are dedicated mainly to exhibitions or reserved for children with workshops, but at the Atomium there are also concerts, projections of films or conferences organized. The highest ball is a restaurant and the view on Brussels will certainly enthrall you.

If you visit the Atomium you will get a great view of the city from the other balls as well. It is worth taking lots of pictures, so make sure that you have your camera on you!

The ticket prices are not that high compared to the fact that it is one of the most wanted attractions of Brussels, tickets for children cost around 6€ and those for adults 11 €, but you can buy also a combined ticket and after the Atomium visit the Mini-Europe as well. Either way if you are in Brussels and you have the time you should go and visit both of them.
