Amman

The modern capital of Jordan, with a history as old as 7250 BC. Amman is known for its high hills, ancient monuments, and modern westernised life. The mixture of old and new gives the city its uniqueness which is rarely found in any other city. If you are planning to visit Jordan, Amman is the first place where you will land, so it definitely recommended staying in the city for a couple of days before heading to The Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum and all other places in the country.

Transportation
Public transportation in Amman, and in Jordan in general, is not well developed as western cities, and most of the people rely on taxis and their personal cars for transportation. Taxis are very cheap compared to other cities (could cost around 2-10€ within Amman main areas). Buses are also cheap (cost around 0.5-1.5€) but they are covering few areas only.

If you arrive at Queen Alia Airport (Amman main airport), you will find this transportation options to get you to Amman:

-The Airport Bus: usually cost around 5-7€ and takes about 45 minutes to arrive in the 7th Circle area in Amman, then you can take a taxi to any place in Amman.

-The Airport Taxi: airport taxi can get you to Amman or any other big city. To Amman usually, costs 30-35€ and takes around 30 minutes to the western part of the city.

Uber and Careem
