The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie is complementary to the Palais de la Découverte, and is the biggest science museum in Europe located in Parc de la Villette in Paris. I particularly recommend visiting La Villette when you are in Paris with children, as they will enjoy this theme parc more than cultural monuments, since you have many fun things to do for kids. Musée d'Histoire naturelle is also a good place to visit with Children in the informative/science themes.

First The Cité des Sciences is located in the biggest parc in Paris, La Villette, previously occupied by the Abattoir and meat market of Paris. It is at the heart of the Cultural Center of Science, Technology and Industry (CCSTI), a center promoting science and science culture. Attractions include a planetarium, a submarine (the Argonaute (S636)), an IMAX theatre (La Géode) and special areas for children and teenagers. You will also find nearby the Cité de la Musique and the Grandes Hall de la Villette (exhibition hall). You can easilly spend the day there, especially if it is raining and not surprisingly about five million people visit the Cité each year ;-).

The goal of the Cité is to spread scientific and technical knowledge among the public, particularly for youth, and to promote public interest in science, research and industry.

The most notable features of the "bioclimatic facade" facing the park are Les Serres - three greenhouse spaces each 32 metres high, 32 metres wide and 8 metres deep. The facades of Les Serres were the first structural glass walls to be constructed without framing or supporting fins.

You have also sepcific exhibitions regularly changed, and two big halls for children where they can do many scientific experiments whihc will help understand all kinds of scientific phenomenum.
