The Natural Science Museum in Paris is the oldest one in the world along with its counterpart in London. King Louis XIII decided to create the Jardin Royal des plantes médicinales in 1653 which is currently the Jardin des Plantes, the Museum was formally created after the French revolution in 1793.

The Museum as well as the Gardens are interesting monuments to visit with children, since they are very informative as well as being pretty impressive. They hold amazing collections of Dinosaurs, extinct and threatenned species as well as many samples of current animals. The Dinosaurs exhibition also present fun animations for kids to better understand these species

In addition to the exhibitions, the Jardin des Plantes, Paris Botanic gardens, have more than 4500 plants organized by families, and make it a very nice walk in nice weather.

Along with the Palais de la découverte and Cité des Sciences et de l'industrie, the museum d'histoire naturelle is a nice attraction when visiting Paris with Children.
