The Black Church

If you are visiting Romania than you should definitely spend some days in Transylvania. And if you are in Transylvania than you must go to Brasov, which is, from my point of view, the most beautiful city in Romania. An eye catching attraction right in the center of Brasov is the Black Church.
The beautiful Lutheran cathedral, received this name after it suffered great lost in 1689 in a huge fire.
Now the building is a great symbol not only for the city of Brasov, but also for Romania due to the fact that it is the largest most beautiful Gothic building in the country.

If you decide to visit the church on the inside it might give you the impression that you just have been teleported to another time period. It's impressive dimensions and the beautiful mural paintings and other architectural and decorative elements that will surely leave you breathless.
