The fortified Evangelic Church of Viscri from BuneÅŸti commune (Brasov county), was built in XIII century on an ancient Roman basilica dating from the twelfth century.

Viscri village was forgotten in the mists of time, but now reveals a rustic atmosphere pure and untouched by the modernism of the current times. Visiting the village of Viscri is like a return in time to see the houses, the habits, the traditions and the crafts of yesteryear.

The fortified evangelical church ensemble is composed of: the church, the fortified enclosure has defense a way, two towers and two bastions. The gate tower is a historical monument

From 1999 the church is part of the UNESCO world heritage.

The fortified Evangelic Church of Viscri is not a large sized church and does not have a special architectural value, but reveals the way of life of the inhabitants of this village, forgotten by the world, telling his story from the moment you first step into it.

On the floor of the church, a flowered red carpet stops in front of the altar. The simplicity of the village is reflected here, only colorful icon of the altar rises above the other scenery paintings deleted by the weather. In the space for the choir are arranged the beautiful red Bibles.

From the towers you can see the roofs of the city and the village hidden in the green forest. A quiet pleasant and soft encourages us to dream. Here the people really lived ... Without transport, no malls, no urban bustle. I was wondering if I could live myself like this .... I advise you not to hesitate and visit this lovely village and this beautiful church .... I also believe there are no more beauty on earth as in these places.
