For all the history and ancient history lovers that visit Romania I have to advise them to visit Sarmizegetusa Regia in a village near Hunedoara, Romania.
The breathtaking ruins that you will find here were once the capital of the great Dacia prior to the roman wars.
As a history lover I found this ruins a witness of how important and great the dacian people were. The old fortress had a very strategic location, on a huge hill, surrounded by forests and mountains. While walking among the ruins I got the funny feeling that remembers me of the fortresses in the strategy game Empire Earth and some ruins also reminded me of the Stonehenge complex.
Visiting the ruins can be a great experience as the place sounding them is the perfect example of an escape in nature.
