The Mannheimer Wasserturm is a famous landmark of Mannheim. The water tower was built from 1886 to 1889 by Gustav Halmhuber. The tower is 60 meters high and has a diameter of 19 meters. It was the first urban water tower in Mannheim and had to fulfill all functions of the drinking water supply, including the maintenance of a constant water pressure. After the construction of the higher water tower, Luzenberg 1909 served it still until the year 2000 as a reserve high tank.
Best during summer: the water fountains are on and it the tower offers you a fantastic view over the colorful gardens next to Paradeplatz.
